How we created killer costumes!

This year for Halloween, my friend Becca and I dressed as Lydia Deetz and Betelgeuse from the infamous Tim Burton film “Beetlejuice.” The Lydia Deetz costume cost her $0! Becca used clothing, props, and other accessories that she had already owned. The Betelgeuse costume needed some pieces that I didn’t have in my closet– The $7 striped dress from Goodwill, $5 edgy bangle from Plato’s Closet (not seen in this pic and also came with a free ring with my purchase), and $1 spooky earrings from Open Door. Okay, okay so I had to buy fake nails, eyelashes, and hair spray/chalk, but everything else I already owned and can easily wear any other day of the year. Moral of the story- don’t splurge on a costume that’s useful for 1 night or maybe a couple of parties. Use clothing and other items you already have or buy second-hand pieces that can be worn again! Creating your own costume can be super fun and inexpensive. Not to mention, reusing clothing and other items is also recycling!
